Frequently asked questions

Is there a free trial?

Stokd is free to download and use with all core features included - stock management, orders, deliveries, customers, and reporting. There is no time limit on the free plan. If you need e-commerce or accounting integrations, Pro includes a 14-day free trial that starts when you connect your first integration.

Where is my data stored?

By default, Stokd stores your data in a local SQLite database on the Windows machine where it is installed. Platform credentials are encrypted using Windows DPAPI. Nothing is sent to a remote server unless you explicitly connect a sales channel or accounting integration.

Does Stokd work on Mac or Linux?

Stokd is a Windows desktop application and requires Windows 10 or 11. We have no current plans to support macOS or Linux.

Can drivers use the app on iPhone or Android?

Yes. The driver interface is a progressive web app that works on any modern smartphone browser, including iPhone Safari and Android Chrome. It works offline and syncs when a connection is available.

Which platforms do you integrate with?

Stokd connects to popular e-commerce platforms and accounting software. Integrations are a Pro feature and include automatic order syncing, draft invoice creation, and two way customer sync. Visit the pricing page for details.

Do you support accounting software?

Yes. Stokd pushes delivered dockets to your accounting software as draft invoices. Customer records sync in both directions, and WET line items are added correctly. Accounting sync is a Pro feature.

How does WET and GST work in Stokd?

Stokd handles Australian Wine Equalisation Tax and GST natively. WET is treated as contained within the agreed sale price (not added on top). Wholesale and retail customers are calculated correctly per Australian Tax Office rules. The app shows you the breakdown on every docket.

What happens if my computer dies?

Your Stokd database is a single file you can back up with any standard backup tool. We recommend setting up automatic daily backups to an external drive or cloud sync folder. If you lose your machine, install Stokd on a new one, restore the database file, and you're back where you left off.

Will there be a cloud version?

A cloud relay version is on the roadmap for a future major release. The cloud version will let drivers connect from anywhere without the need for a VPN, while keeping the desktop app as the primary interface. Existing customers will be offered a clean upgrade path.

What if I need a feature that isn't there yet?

We're a small team building Stokd in close contact with our customers. Email us with your use case and we'll have a real conversation about it. Many features in the current release came directly from customer requests.
